People have often asked me how to offer “Water to Sun”
Here is the proper procedure for the same:
It should be done in the morning time preferably at sunrise.
Offer water from a copper vessel. Do ont look at the sun directly but through the water which is pouring down. Preferably let the sun’s rays fall through it in the middle of your forehead.
You can chant Surya Mantra “Om Suryaye Namah” or the Gayatri Mantra 9 times while you do it.
Some people add red sandalwood powder, rice etc. that is ok. But some suggest adding red chillies and things like that, I would NOT advise that.
